Changing of the Points

My first attempt to install new points on the N600 Sedan.  Lucas points from Miles

Removal of the contact breaker cover.

 Turning the crankshaft so the heel of the points is at the center of the highest point of the cam lobe.

 Now it's time to swap out the worn points with the new ones.  Had to disconnect the condenser wire.  Note -- no need to completely remove the small nut that the condenser wire is attached to.  I did and messed up the order of the wires.  Be sure to separate the wire contacts from the frame of the points by placing them between each of the spacing washers.

Reinstalled the points.  Now time to adjust with the feeler gauge. 

I tried starting the N600 but ended up shorting out because of the incorrect placement of the wires on the points.  The battery wasn't able to sustain the short and because damaged.  Replacement needed.
